A meeting dedicated to the activities of women scientists was held

On September 8, a meeting dedicated to the scientific activity of women was held at the Ministry of Innovative Development. Vice-rectors for Scientific Affairs and Innovations of all higher education institutions in the republic, women scientists, young researchers and doctoral students took part in the meeting. Also, at the event, an award ceremony was held in connection with Gulnoza Ismailova, vice-rector for scientific affairs and innovation of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, who became the 2021 laureate of the European International Women's Leadership Awards, which honors famous women with special ties to Brussels, the capital of the European Union.

The Ministry of Innovative Development is doing a lot to involve women in scientific activities, to support their software development, innovative ideas, inventiveness and rationalization activities based on modern information and communication technologies. Currently, there are 2,483 women engaged in scientific-research work in the system of post-higher education in the unified electronic system of coordination of post-higher education.

3,568 women engaged in scientific activity have scientific degrees, 707 of them are doctors of science, 2,412 are candidates of science, and 449 are employees with PhD degrees.

Out of 1,021 scientific projects completed in 2020, 204 (52 fundamental, 152 practical), i.e. 19.9 percent, were led by women scientists. Currently, 82 scientific projects with a total annual financial volume of 45.4 billion soums are being implemented by women scientists in accordance with the requirements of the state order for scientific research works (57 practical projects worth 27.8 billion soums, 25 innovative projects worth 16.9 billion soums). 696 women are participating in the ongoing scientific projects, and they are creating new developments with a high potential for commercialization within the framework of the projects.

2020 by the Ministry of Innovative Development in the framework of state programs related to scientific activity in order to widely attract women to science in our republic, to support and encourage new ideas and developments of women engaged in scientific activity in various branches and fields of science, education and economy. In March, a special competition for women was announced - the competition of innovative practical and innovative projects "Olima Women's Grants". Currently, 214 projects submitted to the competition are being examined in the prescribed manner.

At the end of the event, several questions of the participants were answered by the responsible persons of the ministry. It is noted that the issue that is currently on the minds of many people is that this year's admission quotas for doctoral studies have been doubled to a total of 3,600 people, and official orders will be delivered to HEIs by September 15. Also, within the framework of the currently held competitions, if the researcher's scientific work in the region requires coming to the capital, the travel and living expenses of the researcher and the scientific supervisor will be covered by the ministry.

"Improving", "accelerating", "studying", "researching", "analyzing", "deepening", "implementing" a specific problem and its solution as the main shortcomings allowed in the formation of competition topics organized by the Ministry. implementation", "optimization", "development of methods", "...properties", "...mechanisms", "...characteristics", "vocabulary or training manual development" topics were mentioned. It was said that shallow and repeated scientific works in which these terms were involved will be excluded from the competition by the members of the jury.
