On November 29-30 of this year, a symposium "Amir Temur and Izmir" was held in Turkey in cooperation with Ege University and the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. Scientists of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as researchers from Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Iran participated in the symposium. At the solemn opening ceremony of the symposium, the national anthems of Turkey and Uzbekistan were played. The symposium started with the introduction of Professor Nejdet Budak, Rector of Ege University. In his congratulatory speech, the rector spoke about the personality of Izmir's Amir Temur, and noted that this symposium will be the first and continuous, and that the joint cooperation will continue. Also, in order to perpetuate the name of Amir Temur, Izmir streets and cultural places were proposed to be named after him.
Sherzodkhan Makhmudov, deputy director for scientific affairs of the FA Institute of History, spoke at the symposium and noted that the scientists of the brotherly nations should jointly conduct re-research and promote it to the world, especially the Turkish world, abandoning one-sided sources written by foreigners about the history of Amir Temur.
Lectures on new scientific research were heard at the symposium, which was divided into four branches. In it, N. Allayeva "Description of the personality of Amir Temur in the chronicles of Khorezm", J. Adilov "Archival source on Amir Temur's illness", V. Kholov "History of the Timurid period in Western sources of the XIX-early XX centuries: interpretation and analysis", N. Gulboyev "Amir Temur and Rum: details of the military campaign", H. Mamadaliyev "Amir Temur's contribution to the development of Turanian urbanization", M. Darmonova "The period of the Temurs: the art of calligraphy and its manifestations", H. Jumanazarov "The development of medicine during the time of Amir Temur", S. Nazarova " They participated with lectures on current topics such as Amir Temur's image in the works of A. Fitrat.
This symposium serves to deepen the study of the personality and history of Amir Temur, to reveal new researches, to strengthen scientific cooperation, and to bring our peoples closer together.
