Soft wheat's "Pahlavon" variety

The "Pahlavon" variety of soft wheat was created by the scientists of the Institute of Genetics and Experimental Plant Biology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan through individual and family selection in the upper generations. The variety was included in the State Register as a promising variety in Tashkent and Fergana regions in 2014 and in Syrdarya region in 2015. Since 2020, it has been regionalized in the republic's Syrdarya, Jizzakh, Samarkand and Fergana regions.

In 2021, the "Pahlavon" variety was propagated in the seed farms of Bayovut district of Sidaryo region, an average yield of 55 centners per hectare was obtained, and 280 tons of super elite seeds were prepared. Prepared seeds were planted in elite seed farms for the 2022 harvest.

A first-year seed breeding nursery of the "Pahlavon" variety was established at the Pskent experimental station of the institute, and 26 tons of original and 3.6 tons of first-year breeding seeds were prepared. 26 tons of original (2-year propagation) seeds of prepared seeds were sold to seed farms of Bagdad district of Fergana region.

The "Pahlavon" variety is drought and salt resistant, moderately resistant to rust diseases. The difference of this variety from other varieties is that it is adapted to local conditions, it is medium-ripe and medium-sized (100-110 cm), resistant to dormancy, the quality of the grain is high, and at the same time, the softness and quality of the straw makes it possible to use it as fodder in livestock.
