The number of women scientists is expanding

An event dedicated to the International Women's Day in the field of science was held at the Ministry of Innovative Development. The winners of the "Women Scholars Grants" competition announced by the Ministry of Innovative Development took part in it and presented their projects. The event was also attended by young female inventors, and their presentations aroused great interest among the participants.

The event was opened by the Deputy Minister of Innovative Development Shahlo Turdigulova. "The number of our women scientists is expanding, their software developments based on modern information and communication technologies, innovative ideas, inventiveness and rationalization activities make a significant contribution to the development of the field of education and science, the high attention given to women in our country, it is the result of created conditions and wide opportunities," said Shahlo Turdiqulova.

The attitude towards women in our country has its historical roots. Our ancestors always encouraged us to value women, respect and honor them. Abdulla Awlani wrote: "Girls should strive for education more than anyone else, because with this knowledge they will educate the next generation."

The women and girls who visited the event were also welcomed by the Minister of Innovative Development Ibrahim Abdurahmanov.

"Order and discipline are always strong in jobs where women are the head," said the minister. - Where there are women, tolerance and justice prevail. And if I talk about scientists, I have observed that women scientists have many students as a scientist involved in science, a leader in charge of the field. They are more active than us men in sharing knowledge and attracting young people to science. It is precisely the large share of scientists in the field of science that serves the development of human capital and, therefore, the development of society.

The Ministry of Innovative Development is taking appropriate measures to increase the position of women in science and scientific activities and to support their innovative ideas, inventiveness and rationalizing activities. From 2020, within the framework of the state programs related to scientific activity, the Ministry is announcing a special competition for women - "Scientist Women's Grants" initiative practical and innovative projects.

In order to achieve practical results of supporting women's innovative ideas, inventiveness and rationalization activities, female scientists are sent to foreign prestigious scientific centers and universities for short-term scientific internships. Also, measures are being taken to increase the number of women in startup project contests and among young scientists who are sent to foreign countries for internships.

In particular, in 2020, 31,099 scientific employees were engaged in scientific research and experimental construction activities, and 39.6 percent of them were women. Currently, 3,157 women engaged in scientific research and experimental construction activities have 262 doctors of science in the field of natural sciences, 650 candidates of science, 90 PhDs, 1,643 in the field of technical sciences, 2,176 in the field of medical sciences, 607 in the field of agricultural sciences, 2,006 in the field of social sciences, 3,395 in the field of humanitarian sciences.

To date, 174 scientific projects with a total annual financial volume of 219.6 billion soums are being carried out under the leadership of female scientists in accordance with the requirements of the state order for scientific research works. Also, new developments with high potential for commercialization are being created within the framework of the projects.

In order to demonstrate their intellectual potential of young scientists in various fields of science, basic doctoral studies and doctoral studies, which purposefully prepare highly qualified scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel, are gaining great importance. Today, post-university educational institutes in the republic serve to increase the scientific potential, increase the effectiveness of education, and further improve the training of scientific and scientific pedagogical personnel.
