On September 16-17, 2021, an international online conference on "Biology and Biotechnology of Microorganisms" was held in Tashkent on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the Institute of Microbiology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in which Uzbekistan, the USA, Russia, China, India, Germany, Finland , more than 300 leading scientists and specialists from the republics of Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Austria, Norway, Belarus, Georgia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and higher education institutions participated.
Current issues of modern microbiology were discussed during the conference: aspects of plant, soil and human microbiome, industrial, medical, pharmaceutical microbiology and environmental microbiology were considered. Lectures presented by leading scientists, young specialists also allowed to define perspectives of cooperation on the development of microbiology and the sharing of experience. During the discussion of lectures, proposals were made for the joint work of two or more groups of scientists.
