Within the framework of the 1st component "Increasing the quality of scientific research and commercialization" of the "Modernization of the National Innovation System of Uzbekistan" project, the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a competition for scientific research grants under the program "Increasing the quality of scientific research" in October of this year. announces the announcement and asks the scientific community to prepare for this competition and participate in it.

The Program for Improving the Quality of Scientific Research The "Program for Improving the Quality of Scientific Research" is aimed at financing the research projects presented by researchers, the joint research proposals of local and international researchers (including Uzbek scientists abroad), and the future research potential of young researchers in the country. approves proposals aimed at enrichment. The selection is made according to two main criteria, which include: (I) proposals given in terms of scientific achievements and (II) proposals that are of social or economic importance and serve to solve certain social problems.

The program for improving the quality of scientific research provides two types of grants: (I) grants for young scientists (Junior research grant) and (II) grants for senior researchers (Senior research grant). The grants are equivalent to $200,000 and $600,000, respectively, for each research group for a period of no more than 24 months. Joint international projects may be granted an additional period. The program may also include preliminary research necessary to apply for international research funds that meet the country's requirements.

The selection includes renewable energy, energy efficiency, low-carbon technologies, biotechnologies, medicine and healthcare, agriculture and food. - food (agriculture and food), artificial intelligence (artificial intelligence), ICT and other scientific and is expected to be implemented to attract projects aimed at technological development.

The selection for funding of projects submitted within the framework of the program for improving the quality of scientific research is carried out by the International Council of Experts, which consists of eminent scientists and experienced experts in the fields of venture financing, entrepreneurship and politics, science, technology and innovation.
