"Golden bridge" between science and business

The economies of Uzbekistan and Iran complement each other in a mutually beneficial way, and the scope of cooperation in such fields as biotechnology, textiles, electrical engineering, chemistry, pharmaceuticals, and construction materials production is expanding year by year.


It should be noted that as a result of the large projects being implemented, the number of enterprises with the participation of Iranian capital in Uzbekistan has increased 4 times in the last 5 years. The activation of bilateral dialogues and mutual exchanges is observed, and the number of trade indicators and cooperation projects is also increasing. Looking at the numbers, trade has increased by 73% in the past year and by 22% since the beginning of this year.


On July 19 of this year, our President received Sorena Sattori, Vice-President for Science and Technology of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who was on a business visit to our country.


As part of the visit, the Uzbekistan-Iran science and innovation forum was held. The basis of multifaceted cooperation is to further expand cooperation in the field of science, innovation and technology, to expand cooperation in conducting joint scientific and practical research, and as a result, special attention was paid to attracting the private sector to finance research and venture initiatives.


As part of this forum, an exhibition of products of innovative companies and startups of Uzbekistan and Iran was organized in the exhibition hall of the Ministry of Innovative Development.


About 45 leading companies of Iran participated in the exhibition with more than 100 innovative products, prototypes of technology and new developments, industrial samples. More than 15 plenary meetings and negotiations in the "Business to Business" (B2B) format were organized in order to further strengthen cooperation between the businessmen of the two countries and establish mutually beneficial relations in areas such as agriculture, animal husbandry, medicine, information technology and food industry. As a result, 7 memorandums and cooperation agreements with a total value of 28.5 million dollars were signed and mutual agreements were reached.
