The first Uzbek-Latvian Educational Forum was held in Riga.

On September 4, the First Uzbek-Latvian Education Forum was held in Riga with the participation of the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Kongratbay Sharipov.

Officials of the Ministries of Higher Education of the two countries, as well as heads of about 50 leading higher educational institutions, took part in this prestigious conference.

The forum is aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the field of education and science, implementing joint projects, expanding student and faculty exchanges, and launching joint educational programs.

During the event, it was decided to sign more than 20 new cooperation agreements, launch joint research and educational programs between higher educational institutions of the two countries, as well as implement joint projects in such relevant areas as transport, ICT, logistics, energy, green economy, medicine, mechanical engineering, and tourism.

Currently, about 1,300 Uzbek students are studying in Latvian higher educational institutions. In recent years, more than 40 of our professors and teachers have gained experience at Latvian universities.

Currently, there are more than 40 cooperation agreements between Uzbekistan and Latvia, on the basis of which a number of joint educational programs are operating.
