On September 13, 2025, the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Kongratbay Sharipov, held a meeting with the President of the University of Applied Sciences of the Federal Republic of Germany, Professor Jorg Bagdan.
At the meeting, the possibilities of opening a branch of the university in Samarkand were discussed, and an exchange of views took place on its significance and prospects.
Issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of education were also discussed. In particular, the need to involve industrial enterprises of Uzbekistan and Germany in cooperation in order to provide students with internships and expand their employment opportunities was noted. The German delegation fully supported this proposal.
The parties also exchanged views on organizing a forum in Germany, visiting a number of universities, and holding meetings. Within the framework of the forum, an agreement was reached on signing a memorandum of understanding between the University of Anhalt and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan.
Following the conversation, an agreement was reached to discuss these issues in more detail within the framework of the forum to be held in Germany in November 2025 and to determine further practical steps.
