On September 15–16 of this year, an international conference on “Emerging Trends and Challenges in Sustainable Transportation” was held at Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent (TTPU) within the framework of the Erasmus+ CBHE SPHERE project.
The conference was attended by the Delegation of the European Union to Uzbekistan, leading experts from Uzbekistan and Europe, and representatives of higher education institutions.
Plenary sessions discussed the development trends of the electric and hybrid vehicle market in Uzbekistan. Parallel sessions covered sustainable transport and decarbonization strategies, urban transport development and the transition to electric mobility, innovations in education and research in the transport sector, as well as legal and policy frameworks for sustainable mobility.
During special meetings within the framework of the SPHERE project, partner universities outlined plans for scientific collaboration, quality assurance, financial matters, and the implementation of new educational programs and training.
The conference also featured the official opening of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Laboratory, which is expected to elevate research and innovation activities in the transport sector to a new level.
