Information on the monitoring of patients infected with the coronavirus

The Coordinating Group for the selection of scientific projects focused on genomic, epidemiological, immunological and clinical studies of the characteristics of the coronavirus infection was established under the Ministry of Innovative Development.

Scientific research aimed at studying the characteristics of coronavirus infection by the Ministry of Innovative Development is being carried out by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Academy of Sciences, research institutes and specialized medical centers and clinics under the auspices of the Ministry of Innovative Development.

As one of these studies, questionnaires for 2019-2021 of 9,500 patients treated at the Zangiota and Tashkent Medical Academy clinics were digitized and included in the database. From February 2021, clinical trials of 1400 patients in different weight groups began, which included extensive analyzes (every 5 days) and post-recovery monitoring.

Studies have shown that risk factors such as obesity increase the risk of hospitalization for patients with severe forms of the coronavirus disease, and increase the risk of death by 4.2 times. Patients with a history of myocardial infarction are 3.3 times more likely to have a second heart attack within 6 months than patients without such a history. The risk of death due to smoking is 2.6 times higher.

A 5.2-fold increase in new cases of thrombosis of any location after transmission of the coronavirus disease is observed in the general population, regardless of the severity of the disease. However, this risk increased by 12.5 times in patients with severe covid disease. The most dangerous complications leading to death are thrombosis of cerebral sinuses (cavernous sinus thrombosis detected in 22 cases from the analyzed questionnaires caused 15 deaths within 6 months after the last period of covid).

In 30% of patients with non-severe forms of COVID-19 and in more than 45% of patients with severe and extremely severe forms, "Antistreptolysin" test-analysis indicators were secondary infection, sepsis, inflammation of the kidneys in the post-covid period, inflammatory complications of the ENT organs. it is recommended to carry out this test for all patients admitted to the hospital to determine the risk of development and change treatment tactics, in particular, the use of antibiotics.
