The photo exhibition “Alone in the World – Navoi” has opened.

On September 20, 2025, at the Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature, a spiritual and educational event was held with the participation of a delegation from Soka University of Japan.

The event began in the “Friendship Park,” where a sakura sapling was planted at the foot of the monument to Alisher Navoi. This noble tradition was dedicated to the memory of Dr. Daisaku Ikeda, founder of Soka University and advocate of peace and humanism, and symbolizes the friendship between Uzbekistan and Japan.

It is noteworthy that through the efforts of Dr. Daisaku Ikeda, in 2004 a monument to our great ancestor Alisher Navoi was erected at Soka University in Japan. This monument was a gift from the Government of Uzbekistan and is the work of the People’s Artist Ravshan Mirtojiyev.

On the pedestal of the monument are inscribed Navoi’s wise words:

“O people of the world, know that enmity is not worthy,
Be friends to one another, for friendship is the true path.”

Afterwards, the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition titled “Alone in the World – Navoi” was held in the university foyer. Unique photographs taken by Dr. Daisaku Ikeda were displayed, and the delegation presented the university with 35 special historical photos.

During the event, a video dedicated to Dr. Ikeda was shown. The university’s rector, academician Shuhrat Sirojiddinov, Soka University President Professor Suzuki, and members of the delegation highlighted the shared values between Navoi’s humanistic ideas and Ikeda’s philosophy.

The meeting concluded with a creative program prepared by the university students.
