On September 19, with the support of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, and on the initiative of Webster University in Tashkent, the International Quality Assurance Forum (IQAF) commenced its work in our country for the first time.
The Forum is being held in Tashkent on September 19–20, 2025. The first day’s events took place at the InterContinental hotel.
At the opening ceremony, the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Qo‘ng‘irotboy Sharipov, delivered a speech focusing on the alignment of the higher education system with international standards, supporting scientific research and innovation, strengthening academic integrity, and introducing modern educational technologies. He also emphasized that achieving international recognition of Uzbekistan’s diplomas is a key task.
The Forum is attended by the heads of more than 30 higher education institutions in Uzbekistan, as well as 13 specialists, including 9 international experts from the USA and European countries. Their presentations addressed issues of quality assurance and accreditation processes in higher education in line with international standards.
During the panel sessions, leading experts from INQAAHE, EQAR, QAA, AQAS, as well as from the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, and Kazakhstan, are sharing their experience.
This Forum is becoming an important platform for strengthening international cooperation and introducing best practices in quality assurance in Uzbekistan’s higher education system.
The second day’s events will continue tomorrow, September 20, at the campus of Webster University in Tashkent.
